Teachers from every school in the country will be given mental health training as part of a new Government initiative aiming to help staff identify issues in their classrooms.
Practical advice will be given, helping teachers to recognise and appropriately handle such complex matters as depression, anxiety, eating disorders and self-harm.
The program has emerged following Prince Harry’s recent disclosures to the press that he sought counselling when attempting to come to terms with his mother’s passing.
Delivered by Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England, it is hoped that the initiative will assist in breaking taboos and create a sense of community, emphasising the idea that nobody has to be alone.
