Make learning memorable and boost creativity by teaching children outside
The Outdoor Classroom Day initiative started in 2012 with only a handful of schools taking part. Now, in its sixth year, 345,000 in 52 countries have got involved with the project.
There are plenty of suggested benefits from taking children outside to learn in a bid to improve health and wellbeing. Teachers have reported improved concentration, increased productivity, better behaviour, as well as the creation of positive relationships between adults and children.
Potentially effective for all ages, on 18th May teachers are encouraged to keep empty classrooms and get outside for an alternative learning experience.
