We are delighted to reveal that one of our Thrive schools, Fiveways School, has won the Excellent Practice in Special School award at this year’s nasen ceremony.
The nasen Awards, hosted by the Waldorf Hilton Hotel in London, proudly celebrated those who go above and beyond to make a difference for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
One school that truly reflects these values is Fiveways School in Yeovil. Shortlisted with three other schools, they were extremely proud to succeed in their category due to their outstanding outreach work and inclusion programme.
As one of our Thrive settings, we’re so pleased to see that our Approach enables every child at Fiveways to have their needs met.
The Head Teacher of Fiveways School, Mark Collis, has said,
Fiveways School provides an ‘Outstanding’ education for the 77 pupils who are drawn from the South Somerset area. Each pupils’ needs are carefully and sensitively addressed, within the context of a well developed curriculum.
We believe that our pupils should enjoy school and have fun while they learn.
Our committed staff work as a team to provide a specialist education, enabling all children to develop to their full potential. To this end we are keen to work with parents and carers to ensure continuity of approach.
Fiveways is a forward looking special school, keen to promote the opportunities for pupils with special needs within their local communities.
